Section 1: General Cloud Questions
1. What are the different types of services offered in the cloud?
There are several types of cloud services, including:
1.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): This type of service
provides access to virtualized computing resources, such as virtual machines,
storage, and networking.
2.
Platform as a Service (PaaS): This type of service provides a
platform for developing, testing, and deploying applications, without the need
to manage the underlying infrastructure.
3.
Software as a Service (SaaS): This type of service provides
access to software applications over the internet, typically on a subscription
basis.
4.
Backup as a Service (BaaS) : This type of service provides the
ability to backup data to the cloud
5.
Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) : This type of service
provides the ability to recover data and applications in the event of a
disaster.
6.
Function as a Service (FaaS) : This type of service enables
running code without the need for provisioning or managing servers.
7.
Security as a Service (SECaaS) : This type of service provides
the ability to secure data and applications in the cloud.
8.
Database as a Service (DBaaS) : This type of service provides
the ability to manage and interact with databases in the cloud.
9.
Analytics as a Service (AaaS) : This type of service provides
the ability to analyze data in the cloud.
10.
Management as a Service (MaaS) : This type of service provides
the ability to manage cloud infrastructure and services.
Q2 ---- What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including
servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and
intelligence—over the internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation,
flexible resources, and economies of scale.
It allows
Users can access these services and manage their accounts using a web browser,
without investing in and maintaining the underlying
infrastructure. Instead, the cloud provider owns and maintains the
infrastructure and users can access the resources on-demand, only paying for
what they use. This allows for greater scalability, as resources can be quickly
added or removed as needed.
Cloud
computing is usually divided into three main categories: Infrastructure as a
Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)
